Rex Coffman at Potato Day
|
Carbondale’s Potato Day is the town’s longest-running annual tradition. This celebration of community, heritage, and the agricultural roots that shaped the Roaring Fork Valley was first held in 1909 to honor and support local potato farmers. The event has grown into a beloved fall gathering featuring a parade down Main Street, live music, food, family activities, and the famous community meal. Potato Day brings together generations of residents and visitors to share in the town’s history and culture of community. Aspen Valley Land Trust is proud to partner with the Town of Carbondale this year for the 116th Potato Day to celebrate the deep connection between community, land, and heritage. As stewards of Coffman Ranch, AVLT shares the commitment to preserving the valley’s agricultural roots and open spaces while fostering meaningful public engagement. We hope to see you at the Pre-tato Promenade and other Potato Day festivities! |
