Helping you care for your land

Your commitment to your land, water, and natural resources is creating a healthier future for the wildlife, working lands, and places you love.

Your local conservation districts are a great resource to help you steward your land. Through cost share programs and technical assistance for landowners, the conservation districts provide funding opportunities for noxious vegetation management, water infrastructure improvements, soil health, forage quality and increased biodiversity. Depending on your location, look into the opportunities that are applicable to your needs and check out the links below:

COLORADO RIVER WILDFIRE COLLABORATIVE

Prescribed burn
The Colorado River Wildfire Collaborative, spanning Glenwood Springs to De Beque Canyon and encompassing western Garfield County to the Utah border, has recently developed a Wildfire Ready Risk Analysis for the region to assess post-fire hazards and protect at-risk values. They are looking for landowners who would like to know more about fire mitigation work, home hardening, and community defense work to complement the project work.

COLORADO AGRICULTURAL ADDICTION AND MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAM
Homestead buildings
Farming and ranching is notoriously hard, and our agricultural community carries a particularly heavy load. CAAMHP provides members of our agricultural and rural communities with six free sessions to an ag friendly, licensed behavioral health professional. It’s anonymous and in many cases, can be accessed remotely.

COLORADO WATER TRUST

Colorado River
Colorado Water Trust is conducting outreach for the Request for Water Program – a streamlined process for water rights owners to explore options to use their water to benefit Colorado’s rivers and streams. This process is voluntary, confidential, and customizable for different kinds of operations, including agriculture.
